Mondaine Stop2Go: I love it! The clarity of the face and hands is so stylish I just enjoy looking at it. The stop2go feature is great and a bit of fun. The whole thing has some 'personality' as well as looks.
The hand alignment and time setting procedure took me a few attempts to get precisely as I wanted it, but it gets easier with practice, and it's all part of having a watch with some character.
BUT, the Backlight lume is a disappointment. Shine a torch on the watch face for 15 seconds and the Backlight looks really good. In practice, in day-to-day ativities, the lume just doesn't appear. If you like to hide in dark cupboards occasionally you may get to see it. But by the time daylight has diminished enough for the lume to useful, it is exhausted and at best a tiny green smudge at the centre of the dial. So at best, it's a party trick that can be demonstrated, but doesn't perform on its own. Definitely a let down and I suggest, when assessing the watch for practical use, you assume that it does not exist. Fortunately I have the white face and black hands which need little ambient light to be readable. So I have given up on the Backlight, and still love the watch.
Also, First Class Watches is an excellent company. Good price, plus discount for first purchase, so that was good. Dispatch was very prompt, and they use Royal Mail which is important as they too are reliable. Not some cheap delivery company whose drivers only speak Grunt, if they can bothered to find my house (on a country road). FCW communications were excellent and kept me up to speed at each stage of placing the order to delivery, which I appreciated for an expensive purchase. Thank you FCW.

I spent a lot of time choosing my new Seiko 5 Sports Watch, and am not disappointed! It is a wee beauty and the day/date was straightforward to set once I found a good internet site which explained the procedure. (Basically to set the time, then day and date to your previous day and date. The watch should roll forward to the current one, overnight.

I love the weight and look of the little Seiko 28mm, and removal of 4 bracelet links to fit my wrist cost just £5 at the local key shop, and took the operator under 5 minutes to complete.

The only caveat is - I bought the watch so I could quickly check the day and date, but depending on your eyesight - the writing is tiny! My eyesight is only just starting to adjust to this but may be just me, hence the 4 stars for style.

The price point for this lovely wee watch was good for me, and I took advantage of the company current discount when ordering. I was kept informed of the delivery progress and it arrived just 48 hours after placing the order - excellent service and I'll be recommending FCW to friends, for sure!
