Junghans FORM A Bauhaus Limited Edition (39.3mm):
I was very fortunate to get the last Junghans Form A available at the time and have worn it for just over a week. This watch has a very subtle and pleasing style which never fails to delight me whenever I check the time. The Bauhaus Art institution in Weimar (1919 to 1934) specialised in minimalist designs and various watch companies have adopted the style into their products. The face is therefore very easy and straightforward to read at a glance. This 1000 piece limited edition has a black face, a very sleek case and stylish pointed grey hands. The second hand exhibits the sophisticated movement and glides around the dial. It also has a very professionally made upmarket chain Milanese bracelet which has a double clasp for extra security and is very comfortable to wear, especially as the watch itself is not too heavy itself. You don't feel encumbered to wear it. The watch has a beautiful window on the back so you can see the automatic winding system working and this is incorporated into a lovely graphic of the Bauhaus emblem. But it's the very skilful enchanting arrangement of the brightly colourful rainbow dots for each hour which run through the shades at variation, along with the date window (which changes reliably and quickly) that really make this watch so eye catching and attractive.
The watch has kept good time.
The glass has its own style in that it's completely flat and although it can collect finger smudges more easily it's still a pleasure and complements the watch case perfectly.
I do like this watch very much.
I did not receive the guarantee booklet but a quick e-mail to Rowland and I received it in a couple of days. In fact Rowland was very helpful in answering my technical questions promptly, concisely and accurately.
I would, however, like to say a very special thank you to Rowland because when I ordered the watch I knew that it was the last one and did so in such a hurry that I didn't notice that there was a free gift watch winder for orders over £1000. I did ask the following day if I was too late. Luckily Rowland sent one to me and it's great! I have been using it to keep the Junghans fully wound up for three days and it certainly does its job.
So, thank you very much First Class Watches, you have been most helpful, courteous and professional. I have now bought two watches from you and will hopefully come back again.
